1. How Standing Seam Stacks Up Against Everything Else
Almost every LA roof is one of five things: asphalt shingles, concrete/clay tile, wood shake, flat membrane, or metal. Standing seam metal is the newest in residential use, and the one outperforming everything else. Here's how the major materials compare on what homeowners actually care about (three decades of watching real LA roofs, not a brochure):

Caveat: every product has a high and low end. "Standing seam" here assumes 24-gauge or thicker, PVDF coating, concealed clips, and proper assembly. Cheap exposed-fastener metal does not perform like a real standing seam roof.
2. The 50-Year Roof vs. the 15-Year Roof
Asphalt shingles don't last as long as the brochure says, not here. Between extreme UV, Santa Ana winds, marine air, and 110°F Valley afternoons, a "30-year" shingle in LA is usually a 15-to-18-year shingle. We've torn off 10-year-old asphalt roofs already crumbling at the eaves.
Why metal lasts so much longer:
- It doesn't absorb water. Asphalt and wood do; even tile soaks moisture into porous concrete.
- No organic ingredients to decompose. Asphalt is petroleum-based and oxidizes in UV; wood rots.
- It hides its fasteners. Every exposed nail or screw washer is a future failure point. Standing seam conceals them.
- It's engineered for thermal movement. Metal lets the roof breathe with temperature changes instead of cracking.
- Premium PVDF coatings carry up to 40-year paint warranties, and that's the paint; the metal itself lasts longer.
3. Fire Resistance & Wildfire Protection
This may be the single most important reason to put a metal roof on an LA home today. The Palisades, Eaton, and Sunset fires of early 2025 changed how insurers view hillside, canyon, and brush-adjacent homes. Many owners are being non-renewed unless they upgrade to Class A roof assemblies and harden against wildfire.
But Class A is an assembly rating, not just the panel. A metal panel over flammable underlayment with open eaves and unsealed vents is a Class A panel on a Class C system. Real fire protection is the whole roof: ember-resistant vents + sealed deck + fire-rated underlayment + metal closures at the eaves + clean gutters. Wind-driven embers get sucked into gutters, valleys, roof-to-wall transitions, skylight curbs, and unprotected attic vents, so those are where a wildfire-smart installer focuses.
Insurance reality in 2026: California's market has tightened sharply. A Class A standing seam roof paired with documented WUI hardening (ember-resistant vents, enclosed eaves, defensible space) is one of the few things that consistently helps with renewals and rates. Bring your manufacturer's UL 790 documentation to your carrier, it matters.
4. Energy, Cool Roofs, Title 24 & Title 31
A reflective "cool roof" bounces solar energy back to the sky instead of cooking your attic. The difference between metal and dark asphalt is enormous. Solar reflectance runs 0 (absorbs all) to 1 (reflects all):

Why metal beats tile, too: the key is thermal mass. Tile is heavy and slowly re-radiates stored heat into your attic well into the evening, exactly when you want the house cooling. Metal has almost no mass: it reflects what it can and sheds the rest within minutes of the sun moving off it. Industry data (Sheffield Metals, plus ORNL/LBNL research) puts cool metal roofing at 7-15% cooling savings versus dark roofs.
Environmental performance: premium standing seam steel typically has 25%+ recycled content, is 100% recyclable, replaces fewer times (one metal roof vs. three asphalt), lowers cooling load, and is the ideal solar substrate.
5. Why Standing Seam Wins at the Coast
Within ~1,500 feet of the ocean (Malibu, Pacific Palisades, parts of Brentwood), salt-laden marine air works against your roof constantly: it accelerates corrosion on steel, eats fastener heads on exposed-fastener roofs, strips cheap coatings, and attacks flashing and gutters.
This is where aluminum standing seam is its own category. Aluminum doesn't rust, it can't. Paired with a PVDF (Kynar 500®) coating from Sheffield or Taylor, it's a system built for what Malibu throws at it.
6. Why Standing Seam Is the Cheapest Roof Long-Term
Homeowners compare the metal bid to the asphalt bid, see asphalt is cheaper up front, and wonder why anyone pays the metal premium. Here's the math over 50 years:

7. Standing Seam: The Best Roof for Solar
If solar is on your roadmap, now or in ten years, the roof you choose today decides how well it goes. Standing seam is the best substrate for rooftop solar there is, and we're one of the few metal roofers who can do both the roof and the solar electrical.
- Zero roof penetrations. Brackets clamp to the raised seam, no holes through the panel face, so no new leak paths. On asphalt and tile, every bracket is a hole through your waterproofing.
- The roof outlives the panels. A standing seam roof lasts 50+ years, so you never have to pull solar to re-roof mid-life. On asphalt you'll re-roof two or three times under the same array, paying to detach and reset each time.
- Cooler roof, better-producing panels. Reflective PVDF keeps the roof cooler, and cooler panels convert more efficiently.
- Clean removal later. If a panel ever needs service, the array unclamps and re-clamps, no patching.
8. What Drives the Price of a Standing Seam Roof
Standing seam is a premium roof and we won't pretend otherwise. But "expensive vs. cheap" is the wrong lens, the right question is what you're paying for, because the lowest bid almost always hides a thinner, weaker roof. What actually moves the number:
- Roof size and pitch, more squares and steeper/cut-up roofs cost more.
- Metal gauge, 22 vs 24 vs 26 (see Section 11). Thinner is cheaper and oil-cans more.
- Metal type, aluminum (coastal) costs more than painted Galvalume®.
- Profile, mechanical seam costs more than snap-lock; nail strip is cheapest and least engineered.
- Tear-off & deck repair, layers removed, dump fees, plywood replaced.
- Flashing complexity, valleys, dormers, chimneys, skylights, integrated gutters (all hand-fabricated).
- Color & finish, standard PVDF vs custom-matched.
- Access, tight hillside or gated-estate access adds labor.

9. Metal Tile, Metal Shake & Metal Slate: The Other Metal Options
When most people say "metal roof" they picture standing seam, the clean vertical lines on modern LA homes. But metal roofing also comes in stamped and formed profiles designed to look like traditional materials: Spanish tile, wood shake, and natural slate. If you love the look of a classic LA tile roof or a Cape Cod shake roof but want the fire resistance, light weight, and 50-year life of metal, these are worth understanding. We install standing seam as our specialty, and we'll always tell you honestly which profile fits your home.
Metal Tile (stone-coated & standing-tile profiles). Steel formed to mimic the barrel-and-pan look of Spanish/Mediterranean clay tile, either stone-coated (a baked-on granule surface that reads like tile from the street) or smooth painted PVDF. The advantages over real clay or concrete tile are dramatic: roughly one-tenth the weight (usually no structural reinforcement needed); non-combustible Class A (ideal for hillside/WUI areas where clay can crack and let embers through at the underlayment); doesn't crack underfoot or from branches or seismic movement; and from the curb a good stone-coated tile is nearly indistinguishable from clay.
Metal Shake. Formed and textured to imitate hand-split cedar shake, the warm, dimensional look on many traditional and ranch-style LA homes. Real wood shake is banned or heavily restricted in most SoCal fire zones because it's among the most flammable roofs you can install; metal shake gives the identical rustic look with the opposite fire behavior. Non-combustible Class A; impossible to rot, mold, or attract insects; 40-50+ years versus 15-25 for real shake; deep-formed texture holds the shadow lines that give shake its character.
Metal Slate & Metal Shingle. Mimics the crisp, layered look of natural slate, associated with the most formal architecture. Natural slate is gorgeous and lasts a century, but it's extraordinarily heavy, brittle, expensive, and hard to repair. Metal slate captures the look at a fraction of the weight and cost; doesn't crack (foot traffic and hail are non-issues); is far easier to source and replace decades later; and PVDF and granulated finishes reproduce the matte, layered appearance convincingly.

What Are the Parts of a Standing Seam Metal Roof?
Most homeowners think a metal roof is just the metal. It isn't, a real standing seam roof has at least 10 engineered components, and getting any one wrong undermines the rest. This section walks you through every part so you can read a quote and judge whether you're being sold the real thing.
10. The Manufacturer: Sheffield Metals & Taylor Metal
A standing seam roof starts with a coil of painted metal from a manufacturer responsible for the substrate, coating, test reports, warranty, and panel engineering. If the manufacturer is sloppy, no installer can save your roof. After three decades, we put only two names on our customers' homes:
Sheffield Metals International, Ohio-based, national for 25+ years (a Mazzella company); the architectural community's go-to. Engineered profiles tested to UL 580, UL 2218 & UL 790; 35+ standard 24-gauge PVDF (Kynar 500®) colors; stocks aluminum, painted Galvalume®, zinc, copper, stainless; 40-year transferable PVDF paint warranty; 5-35-year weathertight warranties; in-house technical department; FBC & TDI approvals; 25%+ recycled content.
Taylor Metal Products, Pacific Northwest-based with major West Coast operations; family-owned, vertically integrated, the regional gold standard for California. West Coast manufacturing = shorter LA lead times; steel and aluminum both available (critical for the coast); Kynar 500® PVDF; CRRC cool-roof colors for Title 24; strong custom flashing and trim.
11. Metal Gauge: 22 vs 24 vs 26
Gauge is the thickness of the metal, lower number = thicker (blame the 1850s wire industry). The three you'll encounter:

Why 24-gauge is our default: it's the minimum thickness at which most engineered systems carry their UL 580 (Class 90) wind, UL 2218 (Class 4) impact, and UL 790 (Class A) fire ratings; it resists oil canning far better than 26; it carries the full PVDF color palette and the long paint warranty. Step up to 22-gauge for big visible roof planes, long runs, coastal/high-wind exposure, and luxury architecture where the roof must look flawless from every angle.
12. Panel Profiles & Locking Systems
The profile is the panel's shape and, critically, how panels lock together along their edges. The locking system is what makes the roof weather-tight. There are three concealed-fastener systems plus one architectural profile:
12a. Snap-Lock, the most common residential profile, and right for most LA homes. Each panel's male leg fastens to the deck through hidden clips; the next panel's female leg snaps over it like a Lego. No seaming tool needed. Engineered snap-locks (e.g., Sheffield SMI 1.5" SnapLock 450) carry UL 580 (Class 90), UL 2218 Class 4, UL 790 Class A, FBC & TDI; faster install; great for 3/12 and steeper (some rated to 2/12).
12b. Mechanical Seam, the premium of the premium. After panels are set, a seaming machine folds the seam into a 90° single-lock or 180° double-lock continuous bond. Works on very low slopes (some to 0.5/12 with in-seam sealant per ASTM E 2140), best for serious wind and the most demanding architecture; more material and labor; replacing one panel later is more complex.
12c. Nail Strip (Fastener Flange), fasteners drive through a built-in flange directly into the deck (no separate clips); the next panel hides the heads. Cheaper and faster, looks like standing seam from the ground, but typically not engineered/tested, panel length limited (~25 ft) with no thermal-movement allowance, telegraphs deck imperfections, and usually won't qualify for weathertight warranties. Our position: we rarely install it. If budget is the issue, we'd rather sell you 26-gauge real snap-lock than 24-gauge nail strip.
12d. Batten Seam, a raised "hat" cap over the joint; an architectural choice for some traditional/luxury homes, not a performance one. We quote it when the design calls for it.
13. On-Site Fabrication
This is one of the biggest differences between us and almost every other LA metal roofer: we fabricate your standing seam panels on site, at your property, not in a factory hundreds of miles away. We invested in the equipment to do it.
Why it matters, and why it takes a real C-43. Standing seam runs are rarely uniform. Plywood, framing, and rafter tails are never perfectly even, so every panel can be a slightly different length, even two panels right next to each other can differ by as little as 1/8". That's why each panel has to be formed on site, one at a time, measured to its exact spot on the roof, and why it has to be done by a C-43 sheet-metal specialist who is part of our crew and genuinely understands how to work sheet metal, not a general roofer who mostly does asphalt or tile. The payoff:
- Custom fit on every panel, measure-and-make, not a "close enough" length off a factory pallet.
- No shipping damage, long factory panels pick up dings, scuffs, and edge nicks in transit that seed corrosion (especially on coastal aluminum). On-site fabrication produces straight, square, untouched panels at your property.
- Cleaner work, hemmed edges, square cuts, exact lengths, hand-carried straight from the fabrication station to position. Same crew, same hour, same job.
- Less waste, faster install, no back-ordered-panel delays, and access to narrow hillside lots where 30-foot factory panels can't physically arrive.
14. The Seam: Size & Why It Matters
Seam height: taller seams = more water control (think of a tiny dam). On low slopes a taller seam is critical; on steep roofs it's more about look and wind. 1" = subtle/minimalist; 1.5" = residential snap-lock standard; 1.75" = snap-lock down to 2/12; 2" = bold architectural / mechanical seam for low slopes.
Panel width (seam to seam): wider looks more modern but shows oil canning more; narrower hides it and adds stiffening seams. 12" = most refined; 16" = the sweet spot we build to; 18"+ = most dramatic, highest oil-canning risk.
15. Clips: The Hidden Hardware Holding Your Roof On
Clips sit between the panel seam and the deck. They do two opposite jobs at once: hold the panel down against wind, and let it slide as metal expands and contracts in the heat. Get the clip wrong and the roof buckles, oil-cans, or peels in a Santa Ana. A 30-foot panel measurably changes length between dawn and 3 PM in August in Encino, restricted movement causes oil canning, "ticking," fastener fatigue, and damage.
Main types: fixed (anchors the panel at one controlled point), sliding (holds down while letting the panel move, the workhorse for LA's swings), floating/two-piece (for the most thermally active long panels), and high vs. low clips for different assemblies.
16. Fasteners: The Biggest Reason Roofs Leak
- Concealed fasteners (what you want): screws drive through clips into the deck, then panels lock over them, every screw head hidden, protected from UV and weather.
- Exposed fasteners (cheap metal and barns): screws pierce the visible panel, each relying on a rubber washer to seal.
Coastal note: within ~1,500 ft of the ocean we specify stainless steel fasteners through the clips and at any visible flashing, the cost difference is minor; the longevity gain is huge.
17. Underlayment & Decking: Polyglass Polystick XFR
Every standing seam roof sits on underlayment over a deck (almost always plywood in LA). This is your backup waterproofing, if a panel is ever damaged, it's what keeps water out until the panel is replaced. Standard 30-lb felt is not good enough: a dark metal panel can radiate 160°F+ onto what's beneath it, and felt gets brittle and crumbles in ~10 years.
18. Attic Ventilation & O'Hagin Fire & Ice Vents
Vents do two competing jobs: let your attic breathe (managing heat and moisture, protecting the deck) and, in a wildfire, they're one of the most common ways a home ignites from the inside, wind-driven embers travel a mile ahead of a fire, land on the roof, and get sucked straight into the attic.
19. Coatings & Colors
PVDF (Kynar 500® / Hylar 5000®) is the only coating we use on residential architectural standing seam. This fluoropolymer (≈70% PVDF resin + 30% acrylic) resists fading, chalking, color drift, chemical exposure, and heat cycling, the LA UV killers, and typically carries a 40-year transferable paint warranty. SMP (silicone-modified polyester) is a cheaper coating that fades and chalks in 10-15 years; it's fine on barns, not on an architectural LA home. We don't spec SMP for residential standing seam. Period.
Color by area (what tends to work best):
- Coastal (Malibu/Palisades): zinc gray, cool gray, champagne metallic, medium/weathered bronze, regal white, aluminum substrate with PVDF.
- Beverly Hills/Bel Air (refined): charcoal, matte black, dark bronze, slate gray, architectural metallics.
- Estates + wildfire (Hidden Hills/Calabasas): medium/dark bronze, charcoal, weathered zinc, slate, mansard brown.
- Valley heat: cool-roof-rated medium tones, silver metallic, regal white, zinc gray, sandstone, avoid pure black on south/west planes.
The black roof question: yes, you can have a black metal roof, verify a CRRC cool-roof-rated PVDF black (IR-reflective pigments), pair with strong attic insulation (R-38+, ideally R-49) and ventilation, and confirm Title 24 for your zone. Matte usually looks better and hides oil canning marginally.
Surface texture (added during fabrication to control oil canning): striations (light parallel lines, the most popular, recommended on most LA jobs), V-/pencil ribs, bead ribs, flat pan (most dramatic, highest oil-canning risk, only with thicker gauge and excellent deck prep), and clip relief.
20. Testing Reports & Certifications
If a manufacturer can't produce these, the panel isn't what it claims. Ask for them by name:

21. Oil Canning & How a Good Installer Prevents It
Oil canning is the visible waviness on a panel's flat face. It's the most common cosmetic complaint on standing seam, and where unskilled installation shows itself. Causes: warped deck, metal too thin, wide flat pans, restricted thermal movement, over-tightened fasteners, wrong clip spacing, mishandling.
A good installer flattens the deck first, specs the right gauge for the width, adds striations/ribs, uses correct clip spacing, never over-tightens sliding clips, and sets fixed/sliding points correctly.

What Does Your Los Angeles Neighborhood Mean for Your Roof?
LA isn't one climate, it's coastal, hillside, Valley, and canyon at once. A roof perfect for one neighborhood can be wrong for another 15 miles away. Here's the situational guidance we give our customers.
22. Coastal Homes: Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood
Salt air, marine-layer humidity, sand-driven onshore winds, UV reflected off the water, and wildfire running out of the canyons, most roofing can't survive it. We've replaced 12-year-old tile and asphalt in Malibu that looked 30. A correctly specified standing seam roof eliminates these failure modes at once.
23. Hillside & Wildfire Zones: Hidden Hills, Bel Air, Hollywood Hills
Your roof is doing three jobs at once: keeping out rain, keeping out embers, and standing up to 60-80+ mph ridge-top Santa Anas. Most materials fail at the second or third. A correctly engineered standing seam roof does all three at the highest level, Class A assembly (non-combustible panel + Polyglass XFR + ember-resistant vents + sealed deck), engineered uplift ratings, mechanical seam on exposed planes, enclosed eaves, and tighter clip spacing at the perimeter.
24. Valley Heat: Encino, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Woodland Hills
The Valley punishes roofs differently: 100-110°F summers, huge day-night swings, and older homes with marginal insulation. Asphalt fails far faster than its warranty implies because heat is the #1 killer of bitumen. Metal, with the right coating, actively defends against it.
25. Luxury Architecture: Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Hidden Hills
At this level the roof is visible from the street, the garden, neighboring hillsides, and drones, it is the architecture. Oil canning is unforgivable, and a documented 50-year roof is a measurable line item on a $10M+ listing.
26. HOA & Coastal Commission Approval
In many neighborhoods we serve, Bel Air Estates, Hidden Hills, Trousdale, North of Sunset, and the Malibu/Palisades coastal zones, you can't just pick a roof and start. Architectural review boards and, near the water, the California Coastal Commission have to sign off first. A stalled submittal can cost you months. We handle that process.
What reviewers want: the exact profile/seam height/panel width with cut sheets; color and finish samples (sometimes a mock-up); reflectance/CRRC data and Title 24/31 compliance; UL fire and wind reports; and drawings showing flashing and edge details.

How Do You Choose a Metal Roofing Contractor in Los Angeles?
We can install the best panel in the country, but if the installer doesn't understand sheet-metal fabrication, thermal movement, fire-rated assemblies, and LA codes, you won't get a 50-year roof. Here's how to identify someone who can actually do this work.
27. What Licenses Should Your Standing Seam Contractor Actually Hold?
The most underappreciated topic in metal roofing, and where we're built differently. A standing seam roof is really three trades in one: roofing (keeping water out), sheet-metal craft (forming the panels, seams, and flashings), and increasingly electrical (solar). A contractor licensed for only one is learning the other two on your roof.
Here are the classifications that touch your roof, in CSLB's own words, and why each matters:
C-39, Roofing Contractor. "A roofing contractor installs products and repairs surfaces that seal, waterproof and weatherproof structures... [materials include] metal roofing systems..."→ The core roofing license, its scope explicitly names metal roofing systems. It's the foundation, but on its own it treats metal as one of a dozen materials. A C-39 alone is legal, but it tells you nothing about metal.
C-43, Sheet Metal Contractor. "A sheet metal contractor selects, cuts, shapes, fabricates and installs sheet metal such as cornices, flashings, gutters, leaders, pans... metal flues, metal roofing systems and any other installations requiring sheet metal."→ This is what a standing seam roof actually is, formed sheet metal. The best metal roofs pair a C-39 with a true C-43 sheet-metal specialist who understands the metal. We have both: our C-39 roofing license plus a C-43 sheet-metal craftsman who is part of our crew, the person who forms each of your panels on site, one at a time. Because runs are never perfectly uniform (even two adjacent panels can differ by as little as 1/8"), that on-site sheet-metal skill is exactly what separates a 50-year roof from a wavy, leak-prone one. A general roofer who mostly does asphalt or tile simply can't do it.
Class B, General Building Contractor. "A general building contractor is a contractor whose principal contracting business is in connection with any structure... requiring in its construction the use of at least two unrelated building trades or crafts..."→ We understand the entire house structure, much of which carries the roof deck. When a tear-off uncovers rotted decking, rafter damage, or skylight curbs to rebuild, a Class B can legally do the structural work and pull one combined permit. A roofing-only contractor can't.
C-10, Electrical Contractor. "An electrical contractor places, installs, erects or connects any electrical wires, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduits, solar photovoltaic cells or any part thereof..."→ A C-10 is full electrical, not solar-only. It covers your whole electrical system, not just panels. Contrast the C-46 "Solar" license, which only "installs, modifies, maintains, and repairs thermal and photovoltaic solar energy systems" and "shall not undertake or perform building or construction trades, crafts, or skills, except when required to install a... solar energy system." Most solar installers carry the limited C-46; our C-10 lets us wire your solar and handle the complete electrical scope. (We also hold a C-61/D-12 Limited Specialty classification.)
The bottom line: you shouldn't have to choose between a roofer and a sheet-metal shop. We know, and are licensed and specialized in, every moving part of the whole system. Roofing, sheet-metal craft, structure, and electrical/solar, all under one roof.
28. Why You Want a Contractor Who Only Does Metal
Would you have eye surgery done by a GP who does eyes "sometimes," or an ophthalmologist who only does eyes? That's the difference between a generalist roofer who installs metal occasionally and a metal specialist.
On a crew that does mostly shingles: metal jobs are rare, so the team re-learns each time; mistakes hide under the panels until they leak or oil-can; custom flashings get "close enough"; and the actual metal work is often handed to crews you never meet, which can void your weathertight warranty. On a metal-focused crew: every installer has done this hundreds of times, custom flashing is the default, the panels are formed on site by a true sheet-metal craftsman, and thermal movement, clip spacing, and panel layout are handled before the first panel hits the deck.

1. What CSLB license classifications do you hold, and what's your number? (Strongest answer: C-39 + Class B, with a C-43 sheet-metal specialist on the crew, plus C-10 if you want solar.)
2. How many years have you installed standing seam specifically (not roofs in general)?
3. How many standing seam roofs do you install per year in LA?
4. Can I see three completed standing seam projects within 10 miles I can drive by today?

30. Red Flags & What a Real Quote Looks Like
Walk away if: "standing seam, exposed fastener, doesn't matter, it's all metal"; they can't name the manufacturer or gauge; "we use whatever clip the supplier sends"; "standard felt is fine"; "oil canning never happens"; no discussion of Title 24 or (in a WUI zone) fire-rated assembly; a bid suspiciously low (40-60% under the next); a large up-front deposit (California limits roofing down payments to 10% or $1,000, whichever is less); unwillingness to put a complete written scope in the contract; or no proof of workers' comp and liability. (Per SB 216, all C-39 roofers must carry workers' comp even with no employees, verify on cslb.ca.gov.)
A real quote contains: tear-off scope and dump fees; deck-inspection scope with per-sheet plywood price; underlayment brand (e.g., Polyglass Polystick XFR); metal type, substrate, gauge, manufacturer, and profile; coating system, color name, and CRRC number; clip type, spacing, and quantity; fastener type and length; every flashing detail; ventilation scope (including ember-resistant vents); gutters; permit responsibility; workmanship warranty term; manufacturer paint/substrate/weathertight warranties; cleanup and magnet sweep; clear exclusions; a California-compliant payment schedule; and a change-order process.

What Happens After Your Standing Seam Roof Is Installed?
31. Maintenance: What "Low Maintenance" Means
Standing seam is the lowest-maintenance true engineered roof you can buy, but "low" isn't "none."
Annually (or after major storms): look at the roof from the ground; clean gutters and downspouts (leaves and pine needles cause more roof problems than weather); trim overhanging limbs; keep valleys clear. Every 3-5 years: have a metal roofer inspect penetrations (skylights, chimneys, vent stacks) and sealants, and confirm ember-resistant vents are clear. Avoid: pressure washing, power-tool cleaning (scratches PVDF), walking panels without soft soles, and mounting anything with non-metal-roof-rated fasteners (use seam clamps for solar, satellite, and holiday lights).
32. Warranties: Paint, Substrate, Workmanship & Weathertight
Four separate warranties protect a real standing seam roof. They stack, but are written separately:
