Yes, every Sheffield color we install is a cool roof because the colors carry a 3 year Solar Reflectance Index of 20 or higher which is the requirement to be considered a cool roof. In fact, most Sheffield colors have SRI ratings well above the threshold. As a general rule, whether asphalt, clay, concrete or metal, darker colors have a lower SRI and don't reflect as much of the sun as lighter colors. This is why many dark colors don't qualify as a cool roof. However, with metal, even dark shades like matte black qualify as a cool roof because metal reflects far more of the sun's heat than other roofing materials.
