The Elite 40-Year Taylor Metal Standard
Taylor Metal Products manufactures one of the most heavily warrantied standing seam coil systems in North America. When we install a Taylor Metal roof on your property, that factory-backed 40-year material shield is paired directly with our 8-year precision labor warranty, covering both the product and the craftsmanship under one roof.
40 Years of Fade, Peel, and Shield Defense
Taylor Metal applies a Kynar 500 PVDF fluoropolymer resin coating system to every architectural panel they produce. This is not a decorative paint. It is a chemical barrier engineered to resist ultraviolet degradation, salt corrosion, industrial pollutants, and thermal cycling for a minimum of four decades.
What This Means for Your Property
- 40-year non-prorated film warranty: If the coating cracks, peels, blisters, or flakes during the warranty period, Taylor Metal replaces the defective material at no cost to you.
- 30-year chalk and fade protection: The exterior color is guaranteed to resist visible fading and chalking for three full decades after installation.
- Single-asset transfer value: The warranty transfers once to the next property buyer, protecting the resale value of your investment if you sell.

The 1,000-Foot Salt-Air Boundary
Taylor Metal explicitly voids their steel warranty on any structure located within 1,000 feet of a saltwater coastline. This is not a suggestion. It is a hard exclusion printed directly in their warranty documentation.
Airborne salt accelerates galvanic corrosion on steel substrates, and no Kynar coating can fully stop it at that proximity. If your property sits inside the 1,000-foot boundary, we do not install Taylor steel panels. Instead, we automatically upgrade your project to the Taylor Alumiguard Aluminum system, which is engineered specifically for marine-grade coastal exposure and carries its own dedicated warranty.
Our Policy
We measure the straight-line distance from your property to the nearest saltwater body before any material order is placed. If you fall inside the 1,000-foot perimeter, the Alumiguard upgrade is mandatory, not optional.
Simple Rules to Keep Your 40-Year Shield Active
Fresh Water Rinse
Taylor requires an annual fresh water rinse in standard environments and a semi-annual rinse in coastal or high-pollution zones. This removes airborne contaminants before they bond to the coating surface.
Pressure Washing Limit
If pressure washing is necessary, Taylor sets a strict maximum of 1,000 PSI and 4 GPM. Exceeding these thresholds can damage the Kynar 500 coating film and void coverage.
45-Day Registration Clock
The warranty must be registered within 45 days of project completion. Miss this window and the full 40-year coverage may not activate. We handle this registration for every client as a standard part of our close-out process.
Certified Structural Defenses
Class 90 Wind-Uplift
This is the highest wind-uplift classification available. It means the panel and fastener system has been tested to resist sustained negative pressure forces equivalent to extreme hurricane-level conditions without detaching from the deck.
Class A Fire Barrier
The highest fire classification for roofing assemblies. In wildfire zones across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Riverside counties, a Class A standing seam system provides a non-combustible barrier against airborne ember intrusion and radiant heat exposure.
Class 4 Impact Resilience
Class 4 is the highest hail-impact rating. Many California homeowner insurance carriers offer premium discounts of 5% to 28% for properties with a verified Class 4 roof assembly, making this certification a direct financial benefit.
