The Elite 40-Year Sheffield Metals Standard
Sheffield Metals International produces heavy commercial-grade architectural coil used across institutional, multi-family, and luxury residential applications nationwide. Their manufacturing standards are built for projects where structural failure is not an option: hospitals, universities, and high-exposure coastal structures. When we source Sheffield coil for your property, you receive the same factory specification that large-scale commercial contractors rely on.

40 Years of Non-Prorated Coating Security
Sheffield Metals backs their architectural panels with the exclusive COOLR 40-year paint warranty. The coating formula uses a minimum 70% Kynar 500 resin base, which is the same fluoropolymer chemistry used across aerospace and industrial infrastructure applications. This is not a decorative finish. It is a chemically bonded shield.
Warranty Coverage Breakdown
- COOLR 40-year paint warranty: Full non-prorated coverage against film cracking, peeling, blistering, and flaking for 40 years from installation. Sheffield replaces defective material at no cost.
- 30-year architectural color lock: Sheffield guarantees color stability within 5 Hunter units (delta-E) for 30 years, meaning visible fading is held to a margin that is virtually undetectable to the human eye.
- Factory-inspected transfer rules: The warranty is transferable to the next property owner under Sheffield's documented transfer protocol, preserving the investment value of your roof during resale.
Environmental Rules and Direct Coastline Limits
1,500-Foot Coastline Exclusion
Sheffield Metals voids their steel warranty on any structure located within 1,500 feet of a saltwater coastline. This boundary is 500 feet farther inland than Taylor Metal's restriction. For oceanfront properties that fall inside this perimeter, we shift the entire material specification to Marine-Grade Aluminum, which is engineered to withstand continuous salt-air exposure without galvanic degradation.
Environmental Run-Off Prohibitions
Sheffield explicitly prohibits direct contact or water run-off from copper flashing, lead flashing, and chemically treated lumber onto their coated steel panels. These materials create galvanic reactions that accelerate corrosion and void the warranty. During our pre-installation structural survey, we identify and eliminate any incompatible contact points before a single panel is set.
